Re: [ox] Re: [ox-en] goal of oekonux, theory vs. practice, the new social movements and the left

Hi ThomasB and lists!

Yesterday Thomas Berker wrote:

list? If yes, why?]

I checked. It went to both lists.

assuming that the oekonux community decides that a certain unity of
theory and practice is indeed desired and/or that a large number of
oekonuxers are also interested in changing society then thre are some
other questions that arise from that. if this assumption is wrong then
you can forget about the following questions but then i think it would
be necessary to ask if the fork of the project wouldn't be the best
thing...

Until now my impression is that you did not really understood what
Oekonux is so suggesting a fork might be a bit - ahm - bold.

Please, Stefan Merten, I would appreciate if you refrained from defining
what Oekonux is. Instead, just mark it as what you _want_ it to be. I, for
instance, would like Oekonux to develop more in Franz S' direction.

So there are three things here. What Oekonux is, what I want it to
be(come) and what you want it to be(come) (dropping others to save us
from explosion of complexity).

I think most of the time I'm talking about what Oekonux *is*. What
Oekonux *is* is relatively clear because there is some practice you
can look at. In fact for nearly everything you even can give a link so
your claim can be proven. If you see that differently I'd ask you to
point this out in the respective places.

My theses are to some degree about what I think Oekonux should
be(come) (which IMHO is mainly the same as it is and always was). This
is debated here at the moment. So far I have come to the conclusion
that what Oekonux has been until now is stil wanted by many people
here. If some people want to do something different - why not? I'm all
for creative solutions which serve all.

And a
fork does not seem that bold to me - for reasons explained before
<http://www.oekonux.de/liste/archive/msg07313.html>

See my comments in my reply to your mail.

What I find bold is that someone from IMHO outside the project
suggests a fork. In traditional times someone who tried this would
have been accused of wanting to break up the project.

    it should
be evident that both groups are of interest to the oekonux project
if "a new society" is the stated goal of oekonux.

This is *not* the stated goal. ThomasB stresses this in his posting
(i'm hoping to be able to reply to soon) and I stressed this in a
posting today.

No idea what you are referring to - you might want to reread my post
carefully before replying.

Hope this got clearer in my reply to you. Though Benni all the time
claims that I think Free Software / Oekonux / me is some kind of
messiah I actually don't think so.

						Mit Freien Grüßen

						Stefan
